Prayer Request That Wrecked Me (In A Good Way)!

Last week, I received a prayer request that touched my heart.  I know if it touched my heart it surely touched the heart of God!  I received this petition through my Facebook page from a lady I didn’t know.

This precious lady had two petitions and the first prayer request was – Pray for me to love God more.  How sweet and precious is that?  Would you help me pray for this precious lady?  I think that is one of the most selfless prayer requests I have ever received.  I believe God is not only going to help her love Him more, but He is going to bless her with her heart’s desires as she delights in Her Maker & Creator!

Delight yourself in the LORD; And He will give you the desires of your heart.

Psalm 37:4

When JESUS was asked what was The GREATEST COMMANDMENT, JESUS responded - HEAR Oh Israel, the LORD, our GOD He is one!  Love the LORD your God with ALL your heart, soul, mind and strength and the second one is love your neighbor as yourself (Matthew 22:37).

And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your

soul and with all your strength. Deuteronomy 6:4

I couldn’t help but think about King Solomon who asked God for wisdom and knowledge to rule his people instead of riches. God was pleased with his answer and gave him riches, wealth and honor (2 Chronicles 1:10).  What God gave him was unlike anything given to the kings before or after him.  Oh, Hail the King and Glory HALLELUJAH!

Things that has transformed my life and helped me to fall in LOVE with GOD!

1.   Telling Him – LORD, I love YOU!
Telling Him - Teach me oh LORD the ways of thy statues and I will observe them with my whole heart! Go ahead and tell Him right now (Psalm 86:11)!
2.     I often ask the Lord to create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me (Psalm 51).
3.     Being a student and doer of His WORD! STUDY HIS WORD (2 Timothy 2:15)!
4.     Praise and worship HIM (Psalm 148)!  Saturate your spirit and home with worship music. He inhabits the praises of His people!
5.     PRAY (Philippians 4:6-7)!
6.     Draw near to Him and He will draw near to YOU (James 4:8)!
7.     Be GRATEFUL & THANKFUL for ALL things (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)!

As the deer pants for streams of water,

so my soul pants for you, my God.

My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.

When can I go and meet with God (Psalm 42).

My soul longs, even faints, for the courts of the LORD;

my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God (Psalm 84:2).

You, God, are my God,

earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you,

in a dry and parched land where there is no water (Psalm 63:1).

Do you truly love the LORD with ALL your heart, soul, mind and strength?
Are you walking in His ways and upright before Him?
Are material things more important to you than JESUS?
Do you love your neighbor as yourself?
Is He first in your life?

My prayer is that we all will become lovesick and obsessed with Christ and detach ourselves from the love of this world and its possessions.  Lord, help us to seek you and your kingdom and to fall in love with you!

And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. Deuteronomy 6:4

The Name Of JESUS!

The name of JESUS is hated, but we must speak it anyway!

I had someone help me edit my screenplay and when I got it back, I noticed the name of JESUS had been removed.  The mere fact that so many people hate the name of Jesus is a sure sign that there is POWER in HIS name! I have witnessed the faces of folks when you say the name of JESUS.  I’m reminded of the scripture that talks about how the apostles were forbidden and prohibited from speaking the name of JESUS: “But to keep this message from spreading any further among the people, we must warn them to speak no more to anyone in this name.  Then they called them in again and commanded them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus. But they decided to obey God rather than man!” (Acts 4:17-19).

There is POWER in the name of JESUS!
There is HEALING in the name of JESUS!
There is VICTORY in the name of JESUS!
There is JOY in the name of JESUS!
There is PEACE in the name of JESUS!
There is DELIVERANCE in the name of JESUS!
There is SAFETY in the name of JESUS!
There is PROTECTION in the name of JESUS!
There are SIGNS, WONDERS & MIRACLES in the name of JESUS!

There are many stories about how people’s lives have been saved by calling on that GREAT NAME of JESUS! One situation comes to mind: I had an aunt who went home to be with the LORD.  She was leaving her apartment and a guy tried to rob her.  He pulled out a knife on her.  My auntie, who was an evangelist, began to plead the blood of JESUS and call on the name of Jesus; this man dropped the knife in the bushes and fell to the ground trying to find it.  No harm, hurt or danger came near her because of the BLOOD of JESUS and that GREAT NAME of JESUS!

I Don't Want To Hinder My Blessings!

The other day, I was in a store and the cashier gave me back an extra dollar.  As I walked away, I thought to myself, “Oh, it’s only a dollar” but then I heard the voice of the Lord say, “Return it.” So, I turned around, went back to the cashier and told him that he gave me an extra dollar.  There were a few people in the store who saw what I did and one lady said to me, “Aww, that was nice of you.”  Another cashier said, “I wish you were here yesterday when my drawer was short $5.”  Honestly, I didn’t think anything of it.  I just knew I didn’t want to grieve the Holy Spirit.  I wasn’t trying to be “miss goody two-shoes.” Later, I felt as if it was simply a test.

In spite of the compliments, however, there was a gentleman who wasn’t very nice about what I did.  He looked at me with disgust and said, “I know you didn’t come back in here to only return a dollar” – which was my first thought as well.  He then went on to say, “Why don’t you just give me that dollar?”
I replied, “No, I won’t.”
He then said to me sarcastically, “Do you really believe the Lord is up in heaven worrying about you giving back one dollar?”
I said, “I don’t want to do anything that would stop or block my blessings.”
He went on to say, “I know you have kept money that was overpaid before. You did not turn it back in.”
I quickly responded, “I don’t think so.” However, I remembered later that I did, indeed, keep money in the past.  In retrospect, I wish I had said in those moments that I didn’t want to do anything to grieve the Holy Spirit.

My final thoughts –

After this incident, a few things came to mind:

1.    This happened on the Day of Atonement, and I felt it was a test to see if I would obey the Lord Jesus or my flesh.
2.    I didn’t want to do anything to hinder my prayers.
3.    I don’t want to do anything to grieve the heart of God.
4.    I hope and pray that I would do the same thing if it was a substantial amount of money.
5.    I hope and pray that I can pass other tests and always be OBEDIENT to the voice of GOD!

What would you have done? Would you have returned the dollar? Do you think your prayers can be hindered by disobedience?

I’m reminded of when the prophet Samuel told Saul that God didn’t want his offering, but his OBEDIENCE: “But Samuel declared: “Does the LORD delight in burnt offerings and sacrifice as much as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, obedience is better than sacrifice, and attentiveness is better than the fat of rams” (1 Samuel 15:22).

Days later, I felt like I had another test – a mean-spirited person said something ugly to me.  The person was very disrespectful because I didn’t dance by her music or do something she wanted me to do. At a later date, I will deal with this spirit of manipulation, which I have seen so much of.  It’s a very ugly spirit.

I wanted to respond with a very nasty email, but I didn’t.  Instead, I told the person, “OK and God bless you!”

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE BLESSED?

I greet you in that name that's above every name over heaven and earth and beneath the earth. That name that every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that YAHshua HaMASHIACH (Jesus, the Messiah)is LORD unto the glory of the FATHER! Sadly, I must say most folks based being blessed on things like, how much money you have, the size of your home, the kind of car you drive and the clothes you wear. However, I beg to differ. What is the meaning of the word blessed? Blessed simply means to be happy, wonderful, divine favor and bringing pleasure. I know people who have money and "things" but they are so miserable and unhappy. Some of them look good on the outside but tore up from the floor up on the inside. They are spiritually blind. They have no spiritual discernment, no peace (No Jesus no peace, know Jesus know peace) or joy. May GOD bless them them! Now don't get me wrong, I like "things" and we certainly need "things" but I LOVE GOD more!! Truly, in HIM we have EVERYTHING and ALL we that we really need!!! He has promised in His word to supply each and every one of our needs according to His riches and glory. However, we must seek the Kingdom of GOD, it's righteousness and the things will be added (Matthew 6:33). The truth of the matter is when we are clothed in our right mind (Hallelujah!)and have the activity of our limbs, life, health and strength we are EXTREMELY BLESSED!!! Can anybody feel me? I'm reminded of one day when a lady invited me to the gym to meet some of her friends. When I arrived, they were praying so I just took a seat. There was a Prophetess in the midst who I had never met before. She looked at me and said to me twice, "You are a blessed woman of GOD." At the time, I didn't think much of it, even though I have always considered myself blessed. As time went on, I begin to ponder and reflect upon those words from on High that was spoken through the Prophetess and the more I thought about what she said the more I began to praise GOD for ALL He alone had done in my life. Often, I praise the LORD for SALVATION and has never taken it lightly or for granted. I was raised as a Muslim and on my way to an ETERNAL hell but HE SAVED me. I'm about to SHOUT!!! Let me stop and take me a praise break! Some times it's good to take time out of our busy lives and reflect on the goodness and blessings that the LORD has bestowed upon us. The enemy works overtime to try and make us dwell on our past, circumstances or the prayers that have not yet come to pass. However, this makes me work overtime to praise and thank GOD even more for the manifold blessings that He daily bestows upon us. Baruch HaSHEM Adonai (Blessed be the name of the LORD)!! I love the scripture that says, "What is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him?" (Psalm 8:4) I'm so grateful for ALL he gives to us. Suppose He didn't bless us with water or food or the necessities we need to survive? He is soooo GOOD and His mercy endures forever!!! Unfortunately, there are some blessings that you can't even share with some folks. Because they are haters and their hearts are filled with jealousy. I've learned to rejoice silently and ponder some blessings in my heart. It's ashamed but it is what it is. Being blessed to me means to be protected from ALL harm, hurt and danger. It means having supernatural peace that surpasses ALL human understanding when hell is breaking loose all around you! It means having joy, unspeakable joy. Joy that the world didn't give and the world can't take away!!! These blessings you cannot buy or put a price tag on. I urge those of you who are focusing on things, money, etc. and those of you who are sinning please turn your focus back to GOD, stop sinning and repent! We can do nothing in our own strength but we can do ALL things through CHRIST, our Messiah who strengthens us! It really ticks me off when people live sloppy lives but they are upset with GOD because their prayers are not being answered. There are certain requirements we must meet if we are going to walk in the BLESSINGS of the LORD! If you OBEY GOD, his decrees and commands, and LOVE Him with ALL your heart, soul, mind and strength you will automatically be BLESSED! The BLESSINGS will overtake you. Please refer to Deuteronomy 28. So do your part and HE will most definitely do HIS! I'm not telling what I heard, read or someone told me. I'm telling you what I have personally experienced first hand. Blessed be HIS GLORIOUS NAME and KINGDOM forever and ever!! Philippians 4:8 tells us to meditate on these things; whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy--meditate on these things.
